Magento: share the same order increment id sequence across all stores

With Magento it is possible to make it so all websites or stores share the same order increment ID as well as the invoice and shiptment sequence number.

You can change it directly in the database by tweaking the eav_entity_type table:

incrementidChanged those values to 0, once the first order is made, you will notice that some new entries have been added to the eav_entity_store table which stores the current sequence numbers for order, invoices, creditmemos and shipments.

eav_entity_storeStore_id = 0 means that it applies for all stores. Change the increment_last_id value to the last increment id so the next order/invoice will use that value plus 1.
